Shanghai PCG attends Shanghai Auto Show in support of Chery Automobile
SHANGHAI, 23 April 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General had the pleasure to attend the new model unveiling event of Chery Automobile at the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2025) held last 23 April 2025.
Chery Auto International bigwigs, led by Chery International President Mr. Zhang Guibing led the unveiling event which was witnessed by more than a hundred guests in attendance composed of international dealers, distributors, representatives of partner companies and media people. Consul John Francis S. Herrera and Philippine Trade and Investment Center, Shanghai Chief Jose Ma. S. Dinsay represented the Philippine Consulate General at the unveiling.
Chery Auto launched a total of 16 new models, but only four (4) crème de la crème models were featured during the unveiling with the main spotlight on Chery’s first venture into the pickup truck market, the very masculine Himla pickup truck which looks ready to take on the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger. The other new featured vehicles are the Exeed Exlantix ES, a sleek electric SUV, the Omoda C7, a smaller but no less impressive compact crossover SUV and the iCar V23, a more affordable and compact SUV with the features and pricetag that would appeal to millenials and Gen Z folk wanting to go out on weekend excursions.
The featured vehicles are set to hit the Philippine market either in late 2025 or early 2026. END
IE Expo 2025 opens in Shanghai
SHANGHAI, 21 April 2025 – The IE Expo 2025 opened in Shanghai on 21 April 2025 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), drawing in environmental policy actors, environmental industry representatives and exhibitors and several key officials, including Vice Minister Huiwen Yu of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and Deputy Secretary General Kejia Xia of the Shanghai Municipal Government
The IE Expo is touted as Asia’s leading trade fair for environmental technology, and the second largest in the world next to IFAT Munich in Germany, showcasing technology solutions to water and wastewater treatment; solid waste management and recycling; air pollution control and purification; environmental monitoring and testing; and soil remediation and noise control.
Acting head of post Consul Francis S. Herrera attended the opening day activities which included the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony to officially start the expo. END
