Philippines participates in ChinaJoy 2024
Shanghai – A delegation from the Philippines participated in the China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conferences (ChinaJoy) 2024, a comprehensive international digital entertainment industry event held on 26-28 July 2024 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. ChinaJoy is an annual event that focuses on global gaming, animation, and the digital entertainment industry.
Participating companies from the Philippines were DreamLord Digital, GameOps, Neun Farben, Puppeeter Studios, and Vilein Studios. They were joined by a representative from the Game Development Summit, a landmark global industry event that had its inaugural gathering in February 2024 in Boracay.
Consul General Dinno M. Oblena, together with Consul (Commercial) Glenn G. Peñaranda, visited the Philippine booth at ChinaJoy 2024.
The Philippines has a robust game-development related services ecosystem offering a wide range of internationally demanded products and services, locally developed through the country’s recognized talent pool in motion capture, programming, art design, production, quality assurance, and sound design, among others.
In line with the promotion of the Philippines’ creative industry, the aim for this year’s participation in ChinaJoy was to explore possible investments and partnerships with games publishers as well as promote outsourcing and co-development services from the Philippines. END

Philippine Ambassador shares his 50-Year China journey

SHANGHAI – An audience of Filipinos and foreigners journeyed back in time with Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime A. FlorCruz on 30 June 2024 during an intimate event that recounted the Ambassador’s remarkable half-century journey as a front-row witness to China’s modern history and development.
Organized by the Philippine Chamber of Business and Professionals in Shanghai (PhilChamSH), the Ambassador was the special guest in a talk titled “My 50-Year China Journey” held in Hotel Indigo Shanghai.
Engaging a capacity-filled venue, Ambassador FlorCruz provided attendees with a brief chronicle of his life in China that began in 1971 as a student learning about the country via an education tour. The Ambassador shared colorful stories of a remarkable life in China where his professional and personal life interlaced with significant periods in the country’s history as well as its transformation to the economic giant that it is today. Further illuminating these stories were the photos and memorabilia that the Ambassador brought for the audience to see. END
