FoodPhilippines has been the Philippines’ collective food export brand for the CIIE. This group includes micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), in keeping with the Philippine government’s push to advance this sector as an integral component of its export industries.
For the first time at the CIIE, the Philippine Pavilion stood alongside that of a major Philippine corporate player in China, Liwayway China Co. Ltd.. The company’s Oishi line of snacks has been officially recognized as a “Shanghai Famous Brand” and, later, a “China Famous Brand”, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. Liwayway’s eye-catching old-Manila-themed Pavilion featured both a Chinatown arch and Intramuros (Manila’s walled city) gate, both highlighting Philippine heritage and the country’s long-standing ties with China.
With both representing the Philippines, the two Pavilions maximized synergies made possible by their adjacent locations to boost cross- and through tie-ups and joint promotional activities that included games and prize raffles. END
