22 December – In a gesture of gratitude for a productive 2021, the Philippine Consulate General hosted a year-end evening reception for the Filipino Community and its partners and supporters at the Parkyard Hotel in the New Pudong District.

The simple but warm affair brought together Filipino Community leaders, representatives of local government agencies and, partners and contacts from Shanghai’s business, tourism, educational, cultural and other sectors.

The main program got underway with a recap of the Consulate General’s milestones for 2021. The short video offered a snapshot of the Consulate General’s frontline services; assistance to Filipinos; voter registration activities; and cooperation with Filipino organizations.

Also showcased were efforts pursued with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) and Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) to promote commercial and business links with Shanghai and the larger Yangtze River Delta Region, and heighten and sustain interest in travel to the Philippines, pending normalization of tourism links.

The spotlight was also trained onto work to help buttress larger Philippines-China ties through engagement of government and party officials in Shanghai and the provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui and Hubei, as well as various institutions, thought leaders, think tanks and counterpart foreign missions.
