PCG celebrates the 2024 National Heritage Month
The Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai joins the nation in celebrating the 2024 National Heritage Month, by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 439.
With the theme, “Championing Heritage: Capacity Building to Transform Communities,” emphasizes the much needed support for our cultural workers and advocates within the local communities and indigenous peoples (IP) themselves by boosting their knowledge and skills on heritage management through proper training and capacity-building activities and tools such as basic conservation, historical research, and cultural mapping methodologies, heritage impact assessments, the effective management of museums, galleries, libraries, and archives, and the maintenance of local registries for submission to the Philippine Registry of Heritage (TALAPAMANA).

Consul General Oblena pays courtesy call on Jiangsu Department of Commerce
NANJING – Consul General Dinno M. Oblena paid a courtesy call on the Department of Commerce of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government in Nanjing on 24 April 2024. He was received by Deputy Director General Sun Jin and six other officials representing key offices within the department handling foreign trade cooperation.
Consul General Oblena and DDG Sun discussed the economic development of Jiangsu Province and ways to further boost economic and trade engagements between Jiangsu Province and the Philippines.
Consul General Oblena was accompanied by Consul Francis Herrera, Consul (Commercial) Glenn Peñaranda and Trade Assistant Wang Yanxia.
Shanghai PCG engages with CCPIT Jiangsu Sub-Council and Jiangsu business sector
NANJING – Consul General Dinno M. Oblena paid a courtesy call on the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Jiangsu Sub-Council on 25 April 2024, during which he and the Shanghai PCG team sought to further strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the Philippines and Jiangsu Province.
Consul General Oblena and his team, composed of Consul Francis Herrera, Consul (Commercial) Glenn Peñaranda, and Trade Assistant Wang Yanxia, were met by Chairman Wang Shanhua and other key officials of the CCPIT Jiangsu Sub-Council. Jiangsu Province remains a significant partner of the Philippines in trade and investments, with 2023 bilateral trade with the province accounting to about 10% of the total bilateral trade volume between the Philippines and China.
The Consul General and his team, with the assistance of the CCPIT Jiangsu Sub-Council, were also able to meet with Jiangsu-based companies and provide them with information on opportunities for doing business in the Philippines, particularly in key industries such as energy and agriculture. END.

NANJING – Consul General Dinno M. Oblena paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government in Nanjing on 24 April 2024. He was received by Deputy Director General Jin Shanjun.
The two officials discussed the state of economic ties between the Philippines and Jiangsu Province and ways to further enhance bilateral economic cooperation. In 2023, Jiangsu Province’s trade with the Philippines accounted to about 10% of the total volume of bilateral trade between the Philippines and China.
