Shanghai PCG welcomes first voter after six years
SHANGHAI, 13 April 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai commenced the thirty-day overseas voting period for Filipinos based in Shanghai, and the provinces of Anhui, Hubei, Jiangsu and Zhejiang on 13 April 2025. According to Comelec’s data, 1,658 registered voters are eligible to vote in this election in Shanghai PCG’s jurisdiction.
This 2025 mid-term elections, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) introduced the use of Automated Counting Machines – Direct Recording Electronic (ACM-DRE) wherein voters are to use the touchscreen technology of the ACM to cast their votes. Among all Foreign Service Posts in Mainland China, Shanghai PCG is the only one to not use a physical nor postal ballot this election.
Ms. Michelle Teope-Chen, President of the Filipino Community in Shanghai (FilComSha) arrived early at the voting precinct and became the Consulate’s first ever voter in six years after voting in 2022 were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Election precincts at the Consulate will remain open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Voting period will end on 12 May 2025 at 7:00 pm (PH time), the same time when all voting precincts all over the world will simultaneously close and will start the transmission of results to the Comelec headquarters in Manila. German-Philippine couple touch base to discuss business
SHANGHAI, 03 April 2025 – German-Philippine couple Mr. Mario Bock and Filipina spouse Ms. Bibian Pacayra-Bock paid the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai a visit seeking guidance on how to get targeted business ventures in the Philippines off the ground and ways they can help promote the Philippines as a business and investment destination. The Bock couple were among those who attended the Kapihan sa Hapon, Talk and Mixer on 22 March 2025 organized by the umbrella organization Filipino Community Shanghai (FilComSha) and FilOrg Philippine Chamber of Business & Professional Shanghai (PhilChamSH), with the support of Shanghai PCG.
Mr. Mario Bock is the Plant Director at the Changsu Factory of Hörmann Door Production Co. Ltd and together with his wife Bibian run the real estate company 3B SolutionsPH Corps, which has offices in Germany and the Philippines
The initial meeting with the Philippine Consulate General, represented by Acting Head of Post Consul John Francis S. Herrera, Philippine Trade and Investment Center Shanghai (PTIC-Shanghai) Chief Jose Ma. S. Dinsay and newly arrived Tourism Attaché Francisco Hilario M. Lardizabal, is one big step forward for the Bocks towards realizing their business goals in the Philippines. END
