Vital energy called “qi” flows throughout the body through certain pathways or meridians. This means that disease and other emotional, mental, and physical health problems develop when the flow of qi is blocked, weak, or excessive. Restoring the flow of qi is essential to balancing the yin and yang to achieve wellness.
There are many different therapeutic methods used in traditional Chinese like acupuncture, acupressure, cupping and herbal medicines, to name a few. Dr. Wang focused on the acupressure points and herbal medicines used to treat dry eyes, insomnia, irritation, breast pain, fatigue, indigestion, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, fatty liver, high cholesterol, edema, neck pain, waist pain and back pain. Participants were taught on what points in the body to press, using fingers, when in pain.
After the forum, Dr. Wang gave out samples of herbal medicine to treat different kinds of body pain.
Filipinos who attended the forum, including Post’s personnel, expressed appreciation for the highly informative and comprehensive presentation of Dr. Wang. Most of the attendees stayed to talk with Dr. Wang and asked questions about TCM in general.
