Shanghai, 28 April 2021 – The Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai joined the Century Pacific Shanghai Company Ltd. Century’s unMEAT product line is made entirely from plant-based proteins, and are preservative-, cholesterol-, dairy- and trans-fat-free. It is positioning itself in China’s substantial and fast-growing market for plant-based and health food options, driven by high disposable incomes, and increasingly ecologically aware, health conscious and discriminating consumers.
Formally launching the line from Manila via online video link, CISCL General Manager Adrian Campillo affirmed Century Pacific’s resolve to gain a firm foothold in the fast-growing plant-based market in China.
In his own address, Philippine Consul General Josel F. Ignacio congratulated Century Pacific on its entry into this important segment in China’s food industry. Citing Century’s track record of excellence and innovation, together with the affinity between Filipino and Chinese tastes, expressed confidence that the new product line will thrive in the Chinese market.
Vice Consul Mario Tani of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Shanghai also welcomed the line’s launch against the backdrop of the prevailing conducive economic climate in China, its investor-friendly policies, rising per-capita disposable incomes, and growing plant-based and meat-alternative market.
